a non-infectious inflammation of sensitive skin, different from regular dry skin because it is itchy. The iching leads to scratching, which leads to a red rash, which leads to more itching and scratching. Scratching can break the skin, leading to oozing out of a watery matter. Derived from the Greek 'ekzema' for 'weeping skin'. |
