EXFOLIANTS - step 3
AHA / BHA - chemical exfoliation
Exfoliation is a essential and natural part of skin renewal and its proper care. It is recognized by skin professionals as an essential - not to be missed - part of any truly effective, result delivering skin care regimen. From the beginning NANCY K. BROWN has focused on Glycolic, the most effective member of the AHA family, to deliver the ultimate in exfoliation. Introduced under the name Aloe Exfoliant, NANCY K. BROWN produced an industry-leading blend of the purest Glycolic and Whole Leaf Cold Processed Aloe Vera.

mechanical exfoliation - scrubs
Mechanical exfoliation is one of the two main skin care exfoliation methods. The method you choose depends upon your preference - although for maximum effect Nancy K. Brown advocates chemical (AHA/BHA) exfoliation.

The mechanical method is not as efficient or thorough as the chemical method. Mechanical exfoliation in reality is a skin surface exfoliation only. Particular caution should be used with mechanical exfoliants as many of the scrubs available today have as their main 'scubbing' ingredients things such as almond shell or apricot pit pieces (these are not found in Nancy K. Brown products), which are harsh, often have sharp edges which may cause some undesired side effects, such as irritation, bruising and tearing of the skin.
The main 'scrubbing' ingredient found in Nancy K. Brown mechanical facial exfoliants are emulsifying natural Jojoba Beads or natural Almond Meal. They are gentle to the skin, yet effective in their scrubbing function.
